Accent Your Body Treatment – Does it Really Work?

Almost every adult has cellulite. It’s an unavoidable fact of life for those of us past puberty. With the advent of cosmetic surgery, it shouldn’t surprise us how many people get liposuction every year. But according to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Report, 341,144 lipoplasty procedures were performed in 2008. Now there is a new in office procedure that can permanently get rid of cellulite without surgery or pain.

How do you know if you have cellulite? If you pinch your skin and it looks like cottage cheese inside of stockings, you have cellulite. Cellulite is a collection of fat that gets stuck under the skin, causing unattractive dimples and lumps to appear on the skin. More women than men have cellulite, which leads scientists to believe there could be a strong link between hormones and they way bodies store fat.

The ACCENT is a non-invasive, FDA approved, non-ablative machine which works by using radiofrequency to treat cellulite. The ACCENT is the only machine currently available that uses both unipolar and bipolar frequency to reach two different depth levels in the tissue. This technology allows the fat cells to be shrunk, rather than eliminated, which is much more natural than liposuction treatment. The radiofrequency then increases blood flow and the treated areas are drained of fat deposits and toxins.

Up until a short time ago, the only treatments available for cellulite were diet and exercise (which is usually ineffective), anti-cellulite creams, or ineffective and cost prohibitive spa treatments that only gave temporary results. There has been a breakthrough in medical technology which has opened the door to effective cellulite treatment.

ACCENT My Body treatments are virtually painless, with nearly all patients saying that the treatment feels like a warm massage. There is no healing time and no need for topical anesthetic. The ACCENT uses a continuous contact cooling system that protects the patients’ skin and provides comfort. There is no bruising involved. Patients are advised to drink lots of water to help clean out the loose toxins and fat. The only side effect reported is slight redness at the treatment site. The results are instantaneous, pain free and permanent.Dr. Calvert’s office currently offers the ACCENT My Body Treatments.

Permanently Remove Unwanted Hair With Laser Hair Removal

Laser hair removal allows people to shed the unwanted hair on their bodies using a pulsating light that travels into the hair follicles preventing them from growing. Laser hair removal is often performed on the legs, bikini area, upper lip, armpits and any other area of the body where unwanted hair grows. Laser hair removal is effective by allowing the pulsating beams of light to travel down the hair follicles into the roots. As a result, the root of the hair follicle is damaged preventing future hair growth. The procedure is most effective when it is performed on lighter skin toned individuals with darker colored hair.

During the first laser hair removal treatment the hair will begin to fall out and many of these follicles will not re grow themselves. In order to guarantee that the follicles do not continue to grow follow up sessions are advised and often included within the initial price of the procedure. While most hair growth will be permanently removed with laser hair removal there are some hair follicles that can resist the heat of the lasers and continue to grow after the hair removal sessions have been completed. The new hair growth that has been able to withstand the treatments will be a lighter shade of color than the original hair growth as well as finer.

Laser Hair removal does have some typical side effects after the initial treatment which is why it is very important that you only allow a certified plastic surgeon to perform your procedure. The side effects include temporary skin pigment changes such as lighter or darker sections of the skin where the laser was applied. While this side effect is visually unappealing, it is not typically permanent and does go away. This is often the result of an incorrect laser being used during the procedure. Skin irritation is also a common side effect. This occurs on or around the affected skin and causes redness, itching, peeling, dryness, and scabbing. These side effects also depend on whether the physician used the correct laser while doing your treatment and are also not permanent.

Deviated Septum – The Rhynoplasty Alternative

A deviated septum is a result of the thin layer of skin between the nostrils in your nose being off centered. As a result of this offset one nostril is often larger than the other and being forced to compensate for the air flow. A deviated septum can be the result of an accident or broken nose healing improperly and uneven. This condition is also hereditary as well, meaning it can be a condition passed down throughout your family over the years. In many cases a deviated septum is gone unnoticed without any significant breathing problems however more severe cases of a deviated septum often requires plastic surgery to ease their discomfort. If your septum is too far over to the right or left it can block one side of your nose and prevent you from inhaling a sufficient amount of oxygen. The blockage can lead to sinus infections, throat infections and other uncomfortable infections caused by mucus buildup. This condition also restricts airflow to the lungs. Plastic surgery helps to reshape the nose and allow an even amount of air to travel through both nostrils. Severe cases can often result in chronic sinus infections, nosebleeds, nasal congestion and more.

In more serious or uncomfortable cases reconstructive nasal surgery is required to help open up the nasal cavity. This will allow the two nostrils to be equally proportioned and reshape the nose to align straighter in some cases. Simple procedures can be performed without external incisions leaving no scaring on the patient. The incisions can be made inside the nose with all work being performed away from any visual outside layers of skin. If your deviated septum is the result of an injury Rhynoplasty may be a rewarding extra step to straighten out any unwanted angles. This is a great alternative to rebreaking the nose and allowing it to reheal on its own. Rhynoplasty can manipulate the shape of the nose and remove unwanted extra cartridge and sharpen the point removing any appearance of a ball at the end of the nose.

While most rhynosplasy procedures will run you around three to five thousand dollars, most insurance companies are willing to cover the costs of this operation. 100% financing is also available for those interested in low monthly payment plans.
